Chief Nurse Research Fellow Award – your opportunity to develop a clinical academic career

These prestigious Chief Nurse Research Fellow roles provide the opportunity for bands 5 and 6 nursing, midwifery and allied health professional staff to concentrate on developing their clinical academic careers while retaining their clinical skills in their current practice.

The Chief Nurse Research Fellow Scheme provides funding for day release to enable the CNRF to concentrate their protected time of one day per week (for six months) or one day per fortnight (for 12 months) on three key themes:

  1. Clinical research trials experience and embedding this in clinical practice
  2. An agreed service improvement project of your choice that benefits your department, ward, care group
  3. Protected time to develop your own clinical academic pathway of learning

If you think ‘you’ve got talent’ and want to pursue one of these prestigious awards then firstly discuss with your line manager as you will need their written support to apply.

How do I apply?
