Ellie Banning is our latest DAISY award winner

Congratulations to Ellie Banning, dual trained paediatric and mental health nurse in our emergency department for being our latest DAISY award winner.

Ellie was nominated by a colleague for always supporting children and young people with their mental health.

Multiple children have commented on how Ellie makes a difference. She makes them feel safe, supported, valued and respected, by listening and caring.

Ellie’s colleague said: “You can see the drive and passion she has. Ellie will support others by teaching and is proactive in learning, going through the work with other staff. She always goes above and beyond to ensure the safe and wellbeing of any child and their family coming through ED and will always give them the support needed. She is a very kind-hearted caring person and an excellent nurse.”

Ellie has also been looking into the pathway for supporting children and young people with mental health and seeing how we can improve this area.

Thank you, Ellie for all of the amazing things you do and continue to do, we are so lucky to work with you.
