World mental health day – what can I do?

We need to reflect on our mental health every day, but world mental health day (Tuesday 10 October) gives us a nudge to get together to have those discussions about mental health and how we can reduce the stigma still surrounding it. These discussions can happen anywhere from the rest room, at the beginning of a team meeting, with colleagues, by the photocopier, to when you are waiting for the kettle to boil.

Take the opportunity to start a conversation. Have you got someone new in your team? Ask them how they are settling in. It might also be a chance for you to find out a little bit more about mental health for yourself.

Below is a list of things that you could think about trying:

  • Download the calendar from the Action for Happiness website and put up in your office or rest room.  Have a look at 10 October and see what it suggests doing that day.
  • Download the free Action for happiness App
